My Grandparents (Bernie and Vera Miles) lived at Court Mead
House. I was christened at St Deny's and my Dad and his family grew up
in Rotherfield. What a fantastic site, it brings back wonderful memories
of my childhood and more recent visit with my Aunty Jill.

My great grandparents Tom and Margaret Longley were living in Rotherfield in the 1881 census at 2 Briccon Villa. Is the building still there? Any information about them is always welcome. It makes me feel very proud to belong to such a lovely village, I was born and bred here and I cannot imagine living anywhere else. Iv raised my wonderful daughter here, and would recommend anyone looking to start a family and settle down in a pleasant, relaxing and undoubedly freindly area to come and look around.

I love visiting relatives in Rotherfield and the beautiful country walks around are a real thrill for a city-dweller like myself. On my visits I am always shocked however at how traffic is allowed to thunder through the village with total disregard for pedestrians. Has there ever been a campaign to introduce some traffic calming? I know speed bumps are annoying but a lot of councils are now introducing 20mph zones contolled purely by those radar/camera things that flash up 'SLOW DOWN' at vehicles travelling too fast. Do the pedestrians of Rotherfield agree that this would vastly improve quality of life and reinforce the village community atmosphere? Anyone else agree?

Love Rotherfield. It's my home away from home. My grandparents Harry and Nancy Stanley lived there for 65years. I have visited many times, most recently a few weeks ago and actually lived in the village for several years as well. Will miss it dearly now that both my grand-parents are deceased, but will still visit and hope to buy one day. ROTHERFIELD is England to me, it's my home! The village itself is gorgeous so quaint, so special. It has a real warmth about it. Don't change too much. What you have is very special, very unique.

I hope to visit some day. My ancestors were country people for the most part, surname Sawyer, who lived in Rotherfield from the mid 1600's at Blackthornhill to latter 1700's (maybe longer. My direct relatives ended up in the United Sates.I am not only interested in the family names (which I have) but the whole history of the area. The site helps a lot. Would love to see even more history.

G`day all.What a great surprise to find this site.Looking at it makes me miss home even more.I am trying to locate several people.
